The Lower Providence Presbyterian Church is one of the oldest churches in Montgomery County, founded in 1676. Its beautiful and historic cemetery includes graves from as early as 1711. But, the cemetery lacked burial options and a design that would incorporate them into the landscape.

SED Design was engaged to develop plans to gracefully integrate modern and green burial options in this historic setting. Through the course of the project, we included a Columbaria Garden as well as green burial urn plots in a Memorial Garden, in addition to a naturalized green burial space. Wayfinding elements, including a new sign kiosk and markers, help loved ones and historians find the burial sites they seek.
